Wants Wednesday: Sleep

image

They say that the best things in life are free. Well, one of these "best things" that I really want right now is sleep. For several nights now, I've been having a hard time getting a good, 8 hr straight, undisturbed night rest. I'd find myself waking in the middle of the night (well, usually 3am) to go to the little ladies room, and when I get back to bed, it would be hard to go back to sleep. It's really frustrating.

Oh well.. I think I'll just tire myself to exhaustion and just fall on my bed to get that much need rest. Or should I pay for it instead? Oh Mr. Sandman! Please help me!

Foody Friday: Salsa!

Guys! I found a salsa recipe with the least ingredients and very easy to make (c/o A Cup of Jo), but still looks hot and delicious! Going to try it this weekend. Would you try it, too? :)

Telemomubo Thursdays: Brave

Warning: there might be some spoilers!

Brave is a story about a princess of old Scotland, Merida, who does not want to conform to traditions and values her freedom more than anything. Merida felt that enough was enough when she hears about her betrothal that would be competed upon by the first borns of each clan of the kingdom. And here, the conflict begins.

I was really excited to see this movie. First of all, it is a Pixar film, and we can always expect for the great cgi effects and heart-warming stories. I'm glad to say that Brave delivers in these aspects. Though the story is not an out-of-the-box type like Toy Story, The Incredibles, or Cars, it is still a solid plot. It is a princess story.

Many teenager girls (or who have been teenagers) would be able to relate to Merida. Though they are not princesses or bound by traditions, they do feel or have felt that they are/were "overly" controlled by their parents (especially their mothers).

What I am most excited about is that finally, we have a Scottish Disney Princess. This also means that the setting is in old Scotland, which is amazing! I've always been fascinated by Scotland, the people's passion, its culture, its magic, and of course, their accent. You can expect these represented in the film.

All in all, it is a solid film that everyone can enjoy. So if you haven't seen it yet, go and do! :) Follow Me on Pinterest

Wants Wednesday

For this Want Wednesday, I only desire one thing. I just want it to stop raining, and just let the sunshine come in. I'm tired of gray and wet days. I'm aching for bright light and colors. I know you feel the same way, too! :) Follow Me on Pinterest

Style Tuesdays: On a Rainy day

I know I skipped Monday, but I still have the same sentiments as I did last Whiny Monday: the bad weather, sickness. But I refuse to let this ruin my Style Tuesday. So in line with this dreadful weather, I created an ensemble that is comfortable, warm, and easy to move in, yet still very stylish.

Hope you like it! :)

Reflections Sundays: Romantic Relationships

For a the past week or so, the main topic of gossip sites is the cheating scandal of Kristen Stewart, who was dating Robert Pattinson, with a married man with two kids, Rupert Sanders (also her producer on Snow White and the Huntsman). After a few days now, the gossips has not died down. And it got me thinking, why is this getting so much attention?? Of course some would say that these stars, Kristen and Robert, are one of the hottest couples, and there are millions upon millions of Twihards out there that are vying for their relationship to last. But this is understandable from them because they're fanatical --the fans of twilight. But why are those who are not fans also hooked up to this story? I think it's because many of the people can actually relate. They too have bee cheated on or have cheated, and they got hurt, badly. And they would break up with his/her girlfriend/boyfriend. However, there are cases that they give their partners a second chance, even a 3rd, 4th, or an nth time. I've never cheated in a relationship or got cheated on, but it got me thinking: should I forgive him if he cheats on me?

I have many friends who experienced this kind of hurt, and every time I consoled each one, my first reaction is anger, anger towards the cheater. First, because of my loyalty to my friend, but more importantly, it's because I detest cheating. I would go into a mature relationship with someone only because I have deep affection for him, trust him, and respect him, and he would feel the same for me, and that we are exclusive.

So I don't get why one would cheat. If you don't feel the same way for me anymore, I expect you to respect me enough to tell it to my face, be man enough to say it. Cheating for me is selfish, childish, and inconsiderate.

And what if he says he's sorry, that he loves me, and it was just a one time thing? I say bullshit. That "one time" cheating tells me you don't respect me, don't really love me, and that you see or feel something wrong in the relationship, and you can't deal with it face to face.

But of course, some say that they love that person so much that they can forgive him/her for doing it, as long as he/she doesn't do it again. I guess I haven't really loved someone that much that I would forgive him for cheating. So until then, my answer is, NO. I won't forgive him for cheating. What about you?

Random Saturdays: Disney Portraits

I watched Brave 3D earlier today (which I would talk more about on my next Telemomubo Thursdays post), and I realized how thankful I am for Disney and Disney Pixar for making fantasy worlds that we can live in, even in just an hour or two. I just hope that they keep doing it. To help us all reminisce, here are some of my favorite Disney Dream Portraits taken by the world-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz:

Also, here are the two latest portraits taken this year:

I know you can guess all the characters. They all remind me of my childhood. You can check the rest of the photos here.

Foody Friday: Instagram

As the title suggests, Fridays would be dedicated to food. I love to eat! I love eating out and exploring new food places and new tastes. I'm not much of a cook though, but I am learning. So I'd definitely share with you recipes I tried or would try.

However, for this first foody friday, I'll show some pics from my instagram. I was on facebook earlier and decided to check my instagram folder, just so I can see how much of my life I shared so far. And what do you know! The bulk of the photos is food! Take a look:

So many food! And I wanted to lose 5 lbs this month?! I must be crazy! haha! Any tasty recipes you want me to try? Share it here!

Telemomubo Thursdays: Music Playlist

What is Telemumobo? Well, it's my invented word that is an abbreviation of the combined names of my favorite distractions: TELEvision, MOvies, MUsic, and BOoks. I would talk about one of them per blog every thursdays. So this time every week, I would share with you my reviews of books I enjoyed, TV shows I love, and latest movies seen or movies re-watched. But for today, you can listen to the top songs on my iPod. Some are new, some semi-new. But the thing is, I just can't get enough of them. Here they are:

1. lemme see - usher ft. rick ross
2. one more night - maroon 5
3. everybody talks - neon trees
4. mama do the hump - rizzle kicks (warning: might make you dance like crazy)
5. work hard play hard - wiz khalifa
6. how we do - rita ora
7. whistle - flo rida
8. gold on the ceiling - the black keys
9. warrior - mark foster, a-track, kimbra (official song of Converse sneakers)
10. houdini - foster the people (LSS tendencies)
11. princess of china - coldplay and rihanna

It's August!

Though I truly enjoyed my 1-month vacation, I can't actually wait to start working again --What do you know? I actually missed my work! Haha! Anyway, I decided to make a list of what I would want to accomplish this month or goals I want to achieve. Here goes:

1. Review as many papers as possible. Of course, this means more money for me. :)
2. Make a mini-celebration for my Mom's birthday. This is actually the first time that we, my brothers and I, decided to celebrate my mom's birthday after she passed away almost 6 years ago. I'm excited to cook.
3. Loose 5 lbs! This is quite hard for me because I'm not much for exercise, and I love eating. I know that planning a mini-celebration may not help me with this, but I'll make sure to watch how much I eat. Haha!
4. Update my closet. I already have some items in mind that you can see herehere, and here.
5. Go out with my friends more. They may feel that I'm too busy for them by now. Don't worry girls, I'll see you soon!
6. Blog everyday (fingers crossed) because I do have a theme for each day of the week. Create sets at Polyvore. And Pin things like crazy!

They sound achievable, right? Though I'm a bit skeptical with #3 haha! What do you look forward to this month?

Wants Wednesdays: Five things

Here are the five things that I would add to my want/shopping list:

1. I want longer hair. Right now my hair is just below-the-shoulder length. But I need it to be longer to do these amazing topknots.
Topknots
2. I want the new iPhone 5. It's rumored to be released this September or October. I hope it lives up to its hype.

3. I want a Mulberry Rosie Satchel. I might just buy this for my birthday. :)

4. I want this Forever 21 Studded Loafers. So edgy and funky. Definitely buying this pair on my next visit to makati. Wanna come with?

Style Tuesdays: Colored Pants

Yigal Azrouel, Karen Walker, Prabal Gurung, 3.1 Philip Lim. Image from  here

I'm lovin' colored pants right now. They truly brighten you up, don't they? They're also great for color blocking, which is so in right now! The above pants are way expensive, but do not let this stop us from following this trend. Luckily, I found a bunch of bright colored pants at Get Stuffed---very stylish but the prices won't put a whole on our pockets. Here's a quick look:

Hot right? I especially like the coral one. What's your choice? :)
